The Nine First Fridays: The Great Promise of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

To Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, Jesus made a promise that has moved Catholics for more than three centuries. It is called the Great Promise:

"I promise you in the excessive mercy of My Heart that My all-powerful love will grant to all those who receive Holy Communion on the First Fridays in nine consecutive months the grace of final perseverance; they shall not die in My disgrace nor without receiving their sacraments; My Divine Heart shall be their secure refuge in this last moment."

What the devotion asks

On the first Friday of nine consecutive months: receive Holy Communion with the intention of making reparation to the Sacred Heart, and go to Confession (the confession can be made within the days around each First Friday). That is all. Nine months of showing up, once a month, on the day Jesus asked for.

Start now, finish on His feast

The next First Friday is November 6, 2026. If you begin then, your nine months run like this:

  • 1st — Friday, November 6, 2026
  • 2nd — Friday, December 4, 2026
  • 3rd — Friday, January 1, 2027 (also the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God)
  • 4th — Friday, February 5, 2027
  • 5th — Friday, March 5, 2027
  • 6th — Friday, April 2, 2027 (Friday of Easter Week)
  • 7th — Friday, May 7, 2027
  • 8th — Friday, June 4, 2027, the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus itself
  • 9th — Friday, July 2, 2027

Your eighth month lands exactly on His feast day. There is no better calendar to start with.

Promise No. 9: an image in your home

Among the Twelve Promises of the Sacred Heart, the ninth is the one you can see: "I will bless every place in which an image of My Heart is exposed and honored." That is why our first collectible sticker is the Sacred Heart of Jesus, made to be placed where you will see it every day. The collection is coming soon, one devotion at a time.
